Start with wagering requirements
The wagering requirement is the first number to locate. It tells you how many times you must play through the bonus amount before any winnings become withdrawable cash. For example, a 20x requirement on a RM200 bonus means you need to place RM4,000 in bets. Lower numbers are better. Anything above 40x makes the bonus hard to clear.
Check whether the requirement applies only to the bonus or to the bonus plus your deposit. On some platforms, the deposit is also included in the rollover, doubling the total you must wager. Always read this line carefully. If the wording is unclear, contact the site’s customer support in English or Bahasa before you deposit.
Check game contribution percentages
Not every game counts the same toward the wagering requirement. Slots usually contribute 100%, meaning every ringgit you bet counts fully. Table games like blackjack or roulette often contribute only 10% to 20%, sometimes zero. Live dealer games may be excluded entirely. If you prefer those games, the bonus may be nearly impossible to clear.
To verify, look for a table or list in the terms labelled “game contribution.” If a game contributes only 10%, you need to bet ten times more to meet the requirement. Always match your preferred game type to the contribution rate before claiming. This step saves you from wasting time on games that barely count.
Identify maximum bet limits
Most welcome bonuses cap the maximum bet you can place while the bonus is active. A common limit is RM25 to RM50 per spin or round. If you exceed this amount, the platform may void your bonus and any winnings. This rule prevents players from placing a single large bet to quickly clear the wagering requirement.
Check the terms for phrases like “max bet” or “maximum stake.” If the limit is very low, you will need many small bets to finish the rollover. This is not a problem if you play low-stakes slots, but it can feel restrictive if you are used to higher bets. Know the limit before you start.
Look for eligible payment methods
Not all deposit methods qualify for a welcome bonus. On the platform, deposits via e-wallets such as Touch ’n Go, GrabPay, or Boost may receive the bonus, while bank transfers or DuitNow transactions might be excluded. The terms will list which methods are eligible. If you use an excluded method, you will not receive the bonus at all.
Additionally, withdrawals of bonus winnings may require the same method used for deposit. Some platforms restrict e-wallet withdrawals to the same e-wallet. If you deposited via bank transfer, check that you can withdraw to the same account. This is a small detail that prevents delays when you want to cash out.
Find the expiry date
Every welcome bonus has a time limit. You must complete the wagering requirement within a set number of days, often from 7 to 30. If you miss the deadline, the bonus and any pending winnings are forfeited. For a player with a busy schedule, a short expiry can make a generous bonus impossible to clear.
Write down the expiry date and set a reminder. If you can only play on weekends, choose a bonus with at least a 21-day validity. Some platforms also impose a separate expiry on free spins, sometimes as short as 24 hours. Read both deadlines so you do not lose spins before you log in.

Spot game and country restrictions
Some welcome bonuses exclude specific games or game providers entirely. A slot title from a certain developer may not count toward the wagering requirement, even if other slots do. The terms will list excluded games by name or provider. If your favourite slot is on that list, the bonus loses much of its value.
Country restrictions also apply even within Malaysia. The platform may limit the bonus to players using a Malaysian IP address or a local phone number. If you travel abroad and log in from another country, the bonus may be deactivated. Always check that your account region and location match the eligibility criteria before you claim.
